I've been to Poland twice...November 1998 and October 2002. My interest in Poland began when I started tracing my family tree and traced my mom's line back to Poland. By doing research I located the village we were from and even some long lost relatives. So my primary purpose in this trip was to visit those relatives and do genealogy. My 2nd trip was pretty much the same but I took my mom along for her first international trip. InPoland I visited Krakow which is gorgeous. I also visited Auschwitz, Warsaw, and Bialystok. But the majority of my time was in the Augustow/Suwalki Lake region on the Belarus/Lithuanian border where my family originated from.
