This morning i woke up early to no avail as nothing opens until 9 am.   i had to get change then went to the historico centro to the cathedral metropolitan..beautiful, then to the templo mayor the ancient ruins of the aztec temple.  i then went tot he supreme court and the presidential palace.   i then hopped on the subway to Tepyac to see the villa de guadalupe where mary appeared to juan diego in 1531.   it was absolutely fascinating...people were crawling on their knees, processions, tears, amputees, etc.  it was actually rather bittersweet and moving to see.  after that i headed back to the Alameda Square and to <iglesia san fernando where benito juarez is buriesd.  i then walked around the plaza de la revolucion and to Zona Rosa.   To be honest...i hated Zona Rosa...i could have been in new york or la....i could hardly wait to get back to the centro historico....where the streets are crazy, horns blowing, music blaring.  i have never been in anything like this.   on the way back stopped by the diego rivera museum.  now just going to rest a bit before hitting some night life. i bought a ticket for tomorrow morning to catch a bus up to san luis potosi....5 hour ride into the sierra madre mountains.   i should be back in Mexico City on Sunday afternoon...hopefully in time for the bullfights!  Monday I am visiting Teotihuacan and the pyramids and tuesday i want to go to Puebla...which i found out is where the battle took place for cinco de mayo. i am so glad i speak a little spanish....it has truly gotten me far on this trip.  if i didn't i would truly be messed up!  Anyway, miss you all and thinking of you and your are with me in my heart on my journeys.  it is truly amazing how poor some people are here...in fact it is heart wrenching to see
