Hi..well, this will be my last email from mexico.  You know i forgot to mention....i am very fortunate as i have had no problems this whole trip or health problems and i was a bit concerened because when i was in San luis potosi staying with daniel and his family...i was not very careful....they served lemonade with ice, salad, etc....but you know me i don't want to offend anyone and "when in Rome do as the Romans"....alas...i have had no problems.  in fact none of the horror stories are true about muggings, robberies, kidnapping, diarrhea, etc....i was worried before i left and in fact this has been the most trouble free trip i have ever had and the most wonderful people i have encountered...yes even nicer than the polish! Well, i got bored last night and went to Zona Rosa...although i didnt like it during the day...i loved it at night.  i went to a club Cielo...it puts our clubs to shame.  i club hopped and the music was so awesome...mix of american techno, spanish-latin techno and salsa.  i had so much fun dancing and the night life over there is incredible...even on a monday night!  needless to say i didnt get home until late and woke up at 6 am....i was so tired i almost cancelled my trip to puebla today...but i forged on.   what an incredible bus ride over there.  The mexico bus-metro sytem is great.  The ride over there was beautiful....it was like crossing the alps...i didnt realize until i was on the otherside we were crossing volcanos and some are active!  puebla was very nice (but to be honest Guanajuato is still my favorite colonial town).  i visited all the sites there including the Fuerte De Loreto where we get our cinco de mayo celbration and the 2000 mexicans defeted 6000 French.  did some shopping and then ended up to have a cigerette in the town square when i was approached by two girls...they wanted to talk to me.  Turned out they are in university de puebla taking english and they had homework assignment to speak with an english speaking visitor.   i am not fully convinced of that....but it was a pleasant conversation and i ended up having lunch with them....maria y pilar!  See....i hang out with the women too here!   i then had a little extra time and went to a movie with english subtitles...i picked Sin Esperanza...which means "without hope" which sounded appealing to me.  it was really good but depressing about an abandoned mexican down syndrome boy.  i headed back to mexico city this evening and when i arrived (Hanlan will be happy to know) they were having huge protests in the main square about working conditions, unions, the president, etc.  it was kind of wild as the megaphones echoes "mis companeros, mis descamisados".....a little evita humor there but it was like that.  now i have to pack and figure out how to get to the airport tomorrow morning at 5 am....To be honest i can judge my trips by the night before i leave...sometimes i am anxious to get back, sometimes it is just the right time...but alas...this is like my italy trip....i dont want to leave and i am sort of depressed.  Oh well...just time to start planning the next one.you know...some of this trip has been heartbreaking tho to see how some of the people especially the children live.  i cant imagine.  there are 5 year olds on the metro pedaling gum, pencil.."un peso, un peso"....its really hard not to get choked up about it.  you want to help but then get dissilllusioned because there are so many.  As always this tirp will prove to enlightening to me and help me grow spiritually and emotionally and not to take anything for granted...the gifts that i have or the day that i have to live and live it to the fullest experiencing everything possible.  Well, i better get going...i could go on and on....but i'll save that for in person.   Thank you all for being a part of my trip....all of you have helped me in some way be the person i am today and when i travel i truly do take you with me in my hearts. pues...bien.  yo voy ahora mismo.  hasta luego mis amigos y amigas!!! :)

its 5 pm here in mexico city....taking a break before taking a siesta and then hitting some nightlife.   Well, i said my goodbyes to Daniel and his family and left last night at midnight.   suprisingly i slept through the whole ride.  i woke up at 5 am in the terminal bus station.  i then had coffee and waited around until 6:30am when i caught the bus to Teotihuacan.  i was there by 8 am...and there was absolutely no one there.  thank god my camera had a timer so i could take some pictures with me in it.  i climbed the pyramid of the sol....i about had a heart attack..i need to quit smoking...of course i blamed the high elevation of this city.  the pyramids were phenomenol...very moving, quiet, and spiritual.....i was not bothered at all when i sat on the top.  i toured the rest of the ruins.  it was kind of an emotional and spiritual day becuase of that...hard to explain but i did tear up a couple of times.i then took the bus back to mexico city and checked into my hotel.  i then went for a walk and to the palace de bella artes...beutiful.  i then went on a shopping run.  i think i may need shopping anonymous after this.  there were so many artisan shops and i kept buy souvenirs for people but then wanted it for myself!  so i would end up by 2 of everything.   i shopped for about 3 hours...and stopped by the internet cafe before going to my room.  i will then probably go to the main square tonight for coffee and i love to hear the sounds of the drums, and mariachi, and the smell of the food, and the honking of the horns and the hustle and bustle...while i sip my cafe americano overlooking the madness!  Tomorrow i will go to puebla early for the day and then back.   i leave wednesday at 730 am...get back to lax at 930 am and right back to work that afternoon...that is if i come back.......

We woke up early and Daniel drove me to San Miguel Allende…which also was very beautiful and quaint.  We had lunch there and ice cream and shopped.  We drove back to San Luis and I bought my ticket back.   Daniel suggested I take the midnight bus back and get bak to Mexico City at 5 am…and then I could just sleepon the bus. I didn’t really want to but it turned out that it worked for the best.   His mom made us a very wonderful dinner and we just chatted

Daniel and I woke up and he drove me all over…we went through the mountains and through small villages to Leon.  After we went to Guanjuato which was gorgeous…my favorite city.  It was beautifu  Undergrounds streets, and this is where Diego Rivera was born.  We stayed at some friends house.  The Cervantino Festival was going on which was insane…it was scary because you could hardly walk around…it was like New Orleans for Mardis Gras.  Night time was crazy and we walke and walked and walked to a dia de los muertos celebration.  We didn’t get home until 1 am.  I was so tired.

I woke up early at 6 am and caught my bus to San Luis Potosi.  It was a long 5 hour ride and I arrived there at 2 pm.  Daniel was waiting for me.  We went on a walking tour of his city and then to his home and met his family.  Later we went back out and I had guava,  cactus fruit for the first time, ice cream and corn on the ocb.  It rained a little and we went to have coffee.  Very nice man and very interesting.  He lived in Santa monica for a while
